As a former first-class player who has represented Guyana and the United States internationally, I was thrilled to learn that the USA's cricket landscape would have a Minor League Cricket (MiLC) platform. It was even more exciting to be named coach of the Empire State Titans in the MiLC franchise system.
I have had the distinct honor of being coached by or working alongside some very experienced and professional cricket coaches in the Caribbean and the United Kingdom throughout my career. I recently served as an assistant coach for the USA men's senior cricket squad, touring with the team throughout its ascendancy to earning One Day International status, and watching the evolution of some very talented youngsters who have represented the United States.
As a former player, my passion for the sport has not diminished, and my commitment to helping other cricketers grow and become professional sportsmen is what drives me every day. It is a fantastic opportunity to be coaching the Empire State Titans. I don't take coaching one of the premier franchises in the MiLC initiative lightly. It is indeed a privilege and an honor to bring my 35 years of cricketing experience to the table and share those experiences with so many very talented players.
I look forward to working with the players and ensuring that the Titans are a team to be reckoned with in the MiLC arena. We are just getting started, fellas!
